Promoting civility in nursing education and practice: A systematic literature review

Background: Civility is an attitude of mutual respect and tolerance for differences that influences the professionalism a nurse. However, there rise in incivility nursing, including aggressive behavior, lack discipline, failure to follow rules. Nursing education practice are critical promoting civil behavior through effective communication, conflict management, resolution.Purpose: To determine strategies civility nursing practice.Method: This study utilized simplified approach conduct systematic review literature. The databases used were PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct (Elsevier), EBSCO. Civility, incivility, civility, as keywords.Results: identified two major themes: "strategy civility" "impact civility." Active discussion, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Journal Club (CJC), role modeling, self-reflection all increase civility. strategy's impact was measured terms individual capacity interpersonal interaction.Conclusion: It promote practice. educators must facilitate activities polite institutions assist nurses developing promotion activities. Additional research can be conducted ascertain efficacy means behavior.
